🗺️ Travel Timeline — Neverwinter to Phandalin
Departure from Neverwinter
Gundren Rockseeker hires the party for a simple escort contract: deliver a wagon of supplies to Barthen’s Provisions in Phandalin. Good pay, light work, and no expectations beyond a pleasant four-day trip down the High Road.
Day 1 — Leaving the City
The wagon creaks south through Neverwinter’s gates as the last hints of sea breeze fade behind. The High Road stretches ahead—calm, patrolled, and uneventful. Forest to the east. Waves to the west. Spirits high.
Day 2 — Split at the Triboar Trail
At midday, the party reaches the junction where the High Road intersects the rough, seldom-patrolled Triboar Trail. The path narrows. The trees close in. Gundren and Sildar, who rode ahead on horseback the day before, are nowhere in sight.
Foreshadowing settles like dust on the wheels.
Day 3 — Into the Hinterlands
The Triboar Trail winds through rolling hills and thickening woods. Tracks cross the path—none of them comforting. Crows gather above the canopy. The air shifts from coastal warmth to inland chill.
The wagon slows. Every snapped twig feels louder.
Day 4 — The Goblin Ambush (Cragmaw Hideout Hook)
Just shy of Phandalin’s borders, the party rounds a bend and finds two dead horses blocking the road—Gundren’s and Sildar’s mounts. Black-feathered arrows protrude from their flanks.
Before the realization fully lands, the underbrush stirs.
The first true danger of Voxels & Valor begins here.
Arrival in Phandalin (If They Survive)
Hours later—bruised, bloodied, or victorious—the party rolls into the frontier town of Phandalin. Fresh trails lead toward the Cragmaw Hideout. Gundren is missing. Sildar is barely alive.
The escort job is no longer simple.
It’s now a rescue.
